Kitzbühel   Hahnenkamm Trail & Skillpark

The Hahnenkamm Trail shows how trail building in the Alps can be realised in a sustainable and natural way. From the mountain station to the valley, the 7.2 kilometre trail offers a flowing riding experience for sporty beginners and advanced riders. The trail was built using machine-assisted manual construction: machines helped with the rough modelling, while an experienced team did the fine work by hand. As a result, the trail blends harmoniously into the terrain. It is characterised by tight bends, small jumps, wooden bridges and natural passages. Artificial elements have been reduced to a minimum – the lines make optimum use of the terrain. Regular maintenance ensures safety and riding enjoyment: obstacles are removed, erosion is controlled and jump and bend areas are maintained – a showcase project for modern trail construction in the Alps.

The new skill park in Kitzbühel is located in the finish area of the Hahnenkamm Trail. Four different lines have been created, primarily for children, with the aim of developing the right feel for biking. Developed together with the local bike school and characterized by drops, waves, berms and uphills, in fact optimal for Learning by Doing.
